Everything You Need to Know Before You Paint

Not at all. Our events are designed for beginners as well as experienced painters. Your artist will guide you through the featured painting step by step, and you’re always welcome to make your masterpiece your own.

Think creative night out rather than traditional art class. You’ll follow along with one of our artists, relax with your group, enjoy plenty of laughs, and leave with your own finished masterpiece.

Yes, advance registration is strongly recommended. Seating is limited, some events sell out, and advance registration helps us prepare the correct number of canvases, supplies, and seats.

Your ticket includes the painting surface or project listed for that event, use of all required art supplies, brushes, paint, aprons, artist instruction, setup, and cleanup. Food, alcohol, cups, plates, napkins, silverware, and other serving supplies are not provided unless specifically stated on the event listing.

New Toledo events are typically posted about 4–6 weeks in advance. Check the Events page regularly and follow Wine & Canvas Toledo on social media to catch new painting releases and special experiences.

Absolutely possible. Popular paintings often return to the public calendar, and you’re welcome to contact us to request one you’d like to see again. If you don’t want to wait, you can also consider a private party, where your group can choose its painting from our portfolio.

You’re welcome to do your own thing and get creative with your canvas. Just keep in mind that the artist will only be providing step-by-step instruction for the featured painting scheduled for that event.

Wine & Canvas Toledo hosts events at both our Sylvania Avenue and Monroe Street studios. Always check the individual event listing or your confirmation email for the correct location before heading out.

Our Toledo studios are event spaces rather than traditional retail stores. They are open for scheduled public and private events, so please check the event calendar before planning a visit.

Please plan to arrive about 10–15 minutes before the listed start time. That gives you time to check in, get settled, pour a drink if you’re bringing one, and be ready when instruction begins.

Please call us at (419) 705-0911 if you’re running late. Our artist will typically wait about 10–15 minutes for guests who have let us know they’re on the way. After that, the class will begin and it will be the late guest’s responsibility to catch up. Refunds are not provided for late arrivals who miss the event without notice.

Wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a little creative in. We provide aprons, but acrylic paint can stain clothing.

Yes. Both Toledo studios are BYOB and guests are welcome to bring food. We do not provide cups, glasses, plates, silverware, napkins, or other serving supplies, so please bring anything your group will need.

Beer, wine, and mixed drinks are welcome. Bottles of hard liquor are not permitted.

Our Sylvania Avenue studio is next door to Orchard Inn, where guests may purchase alcohol before or during their event.

Absolutely. We do our best to keep groups together. If your group purchased tickets under separate reservations or you have a specific seating request, please reach out through our Contact page before the event so we can plan accordingly.

Birthdays, bridal and baby showers, girls’ nights, corporate team building, fundraisers, family gatherings, celebrations, and plenty of “just because” get-togethers all make great painting parties.

Our standard private-party minimum is 8 paying painters during the peak winter season and 6 paying painters during the summer months.

Yes. Private parties can be hosted at either of our Toledo studio locations, subject to availability and group size.

Yes. We can bring the painting party to homes, workplaces, restaurants, event venues, and other suitable locations throughout our service area.

Private groups can choose from our large painting portfolio and available specialty experiences. We’ll help you select something appropriate for your group, event length, and painting surface.

We currently serve Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, Fulton, and Sandusky counties in Ohio, as well as Monroe County, Michigan. If your event is within that service area, send us your details through our Private Parties page and we’ll help you plan the experience.

Cookies & Canvas events are designed to offer a shorter, approachable creative experience for younger painters and families. All ages are welcome, but guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

All ages are welcome at Wine & Canvas Toledo events, but guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please keep in mind that our standard Paint & Sip events are primarily designed as adult social experiences, and alcohol is often present. Parents and guardians should use their discretion when deciding whether a particular event is appropriate for their child.

Pricing varies by painting size, project type, event length, and special experience. The exact ticket price is always shown on the individual event listing.

Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your reservation. With proper notice, refunds, event credits, and transfers to another event are all available.

Cancellations within 24 hours may still be accommodated for legitimate circumstances such as illness or severe weather. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can help.

Refunds are not available once an event has passed if no cancellation notice was provided.

Most public events require at least 4 paid painters to run. If an event does not reach the minimum, registered guests will be contacted by email approximately 2 hours before the scheduled event and offered either a full refund or a transfer to another Wine & Canvas Toledo event.

If Wine & Canvas Toledo needs to cancel an event for another reason, registered guests will be contacted using the information provided with their reservation and offered the available refund or transfer options.
