Wine & Canvas of Greater Grand Rapids Is Coming to MudPenny: Paint and Sip Across West Michigan
We’re so happy to announce that Wine & Canvas of Greater Grand Rapids is the newest partner of MudPenny restaurants in Michigan! Together we’re bringing the best paint and sip nights to West Michigan. It’s where great food, good drinks, and a little creative fun come together.
MudPenny’s story is one we love. Founder Matthew Fuller bought a coffee cart in November 2012. He set up in the lobby of the Waters Building in downtown Grand Rapids, first calling it Grace Coffee. The team later added food, started catering, and rebranded to MudPenny in August 2016.
The name has a great history too. “Mud” is old slang for coffeenand, “penny universities”. They are the early English coffeehouses where people from every walk of life could gather and learn from one another. That spirit of community is what we want our painting events to carry on.
MudPenny’s promise is to be “honestly good”: thoughtfully crafted food and coffee, and welcoming people the way you’d host them at home. It shows in their giving, too. Each quarter, MudPenny donates 1% of its sales, a penny per dollar, to neighborhood efforts and organizations. A partner that puts people first was an easy choice for us.
