Wine and Canvas is known for its variety of artistic offerings, but beyond the traditional canvas paintings, there’s magical experiences ✨waiting to be had especially in the form of Fluid Pour painting.

In a Fluid Pour class you get to mix acrylic paint with a pouring medium and apply to the canvas by several methods: Flip Cup, Swipe or Dutch Pour. Every pour is an experiment in chemistry and movement, and while you do choose the paint colors, there’s no way to predict how they will interact. Regardless, It’s a thrill to watch it unfold every time!🫟

Flip cup is layering different colors of paint repeatedly into a cup, then flipping it upside down on the canvas. Once you pull the cup away the paint starts to spread quickly in all directions and that’s when your skill as the artist really comes into play. The canvas must be maneuvered as to let the excess paint drip over the sides, as well as allowing for cool designs by tilting your canvas side to side and covering the entire surface. To Swipe is to use a tool such as a tissue, or a feather to pull the paint and create delicate patterns. Dutch pour is when you utilize a tool such as a hairdryer or even your own breath to move the paint gently, creating soft ethereal forms.
