About Humane Society of Broward County – Paint n Sip Partner:
The Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC) is a caring, independent nonprofit founded in 1944 that is dedicated to bringing people and animals together, and fostering compassion and responsibility in our community. Based in Fort Lauderdale, HSBC operates a large, air-conditioned shelter capable of housing hundreds of dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals.
Our mission is to advocate for and improve the lives of animals by offering adoptions, community services, and education. In 2024 alone, we placed over 4,600 animals into loving homes and served more than 100,000 visitors through adoptions, low-cost clinics, youth education, and volunteer-driven programs.
We’re not just about sheltering animals; we aim to prevent homelessness and strengthen the bond between pets and people. Through surrender prevention, behavior training, spay/neuter services, and outreach, we give pets the best chance to stay in homes where they’re loved. HSBC relies on the generosity of volunteers, donors, and partners to do what we do — because compassion from the community changes lives.
